Why Open Source for Government? In Camden we believe that we can only deliver true value for our customers, both citizens and businesses, if we make our solutions efficient and easy to use. We should not be imposing undue cost or inconvenience to our customers by making them conform to software specifications because we have chosen to use them. For us this means implementing open standards both for our user interface and for our integration. Open source companies make their software conform to open standards and furthermore allow us to inspect how they have implemented those open standards. We choose to build our services this way because we believe that this offers value to us, to our taxpayers and to our users.
Testimonials
Open Source
Our former web agency had built our websites based on a custom-coded system. Content and layout had not been distinct and were intervowen in awkward ways, it was trial and error. Our new web agency recommended an established open source CMS. Not only because of increasing our independece but also because the democratic approach and the teamwork of open source has much in common with our own corporate culture. That's why today we are not only using open source but also fostering it.
We are always delighted to see how our contributions are being welcomed by other community members and how they are sometimes used in surprising new ways. There's a constant mutual inspiration in giving and taking.
Good consultancy for our customers includes transparency and independence. We are very devoted to data security/safety, privacy needs, and accessibility. By recommending open source solutions we give our customers way more options to change their suppliers. They benefit a lot from the enormous power and speed of the communities when it comes to fixing vulnerabilities. Futhermore, we can directly provide and influence enhancements, for example in terms of usability and accessibility.

CMS-Garden is a great chance to plant the idea of open source and open source communities in people's hearts.

The Plone community is enjoying the spirit of the OpenSource CMS sector since over 10 years. We look forward to this impressing show together with the other projects and would like to present our roadmap for the future of Plone.
Different tasks require different tools. Different types of website content require different types of software tools. Open Source allows for diversity. Let's take advantage of it!
Inspiring People To Share" has always been the motto of the TYPO3 project. We are happy to share our experiences with other open source CMS.
I have had the pleasure to take part in a featured talk "Introduction to Core Web Vitals". Very informative and 100% mandatory if you are in web development. I want to thank CMS-Garden for organizing this event: this is exactly how open source movement and knowledge sharing ought to work!
