Überlappend mit der re:publica (6.-8. Mai) und parallel zur droidcon findet der LinuxTag diesmal in der atmosphärischen Station Berlin statt. Unter dem Kernthema der professionellen Nutzung von Open-Source-Software wird ein Schwerpunkt gelegt auf die Themen Infrastructure as a Service, IT-Service-Management, skalierbare Storage-Systeme, Enterprise-Web-Frameworks sowie Content-Management-Systeme und Embedded Linux.

LinuxTag sees itself as part of the free software movement, and promotes this community to an exceptional degree by supporting the numerous open source projects.
LinuxTag offers these projects an opportunity to present their software, their concepts and thus the entire project to the public in an appropriate form - at their own stands, forums and presentations.
Projects can and should benefit conceptually and in terms of content from a lively exchange with other groups and companies. Progress and new technologies are discussed at length and new paths are explored.
Paving the way for that CMS Garden
LinuxTag has a special significance for us: before the joint project was founded, some of our open source CMS were present with their own project stands. More similarities than differences were quickly recognized and the stands were merged. These events contributed to the founding of CMS Garden.
